Pensioenlab 2015

Pensioenlab is an initiative by CNV Jongeren, FNV Jong and VCP Young Professionals based in The Netherlands. Under the association of Pensioenlab, young people of diverse backgrounds come together to think actively about pension subjects such as solidarity, freedom of choice and communication. Every year different relevant topics are chosen. For every topic a group is formed. Under the topic of ‘Pensions in the EU’, we have actively thought and debated about the problems and possibilities regarding pensions in the EU. We came to the conclusion that a website which makes information about the different pension systems of EU member-states easily accessible is essential. For that reason we researched the pension systems of The Netherlands, Germany, Estonia and Spain. Furthermore, we researched to which extent the European Union is and should be responsible for the provision of information about pensions within the EU. We came to the conclusion that information about pension systems is not easy to find, often unclear, incomplete, difficult to understand, only available in a certain number of languages and scattered through different websites. That is why we created this website to serve as an example of what we think a website providing information about different pension systems should look like.
